Privacy Policy

1. General information
J-Skin is an Android mobile application for documenting and self-monitoring skin moles. The app was designed with maximum user privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers — because we do not have any servers.
2. What data does the app process
The app processes the following data exclusively locally on your device:
- Photos of moles taken with your phone’s camera
- Descriptions, measurements, and assessments of moles entered by the user
- Location of moles on the body map (no GPS geolocation)
- PIN code or biometric data (stored only in the device’s secure storage)
- Doctor visit notes
3. Where is data stored
All data is stored exclusively on your device, in the app’s internal storage protected by the Android system. Data is not sent to any external server.
4. Backup (Google Drive)
Optionally, you can enable backup to your Google Drive account. In this case, data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before upload and stored in the app’s private folder on YOUR Google Drive (appDataFolder). We have no access to your Google Drive or the encrypted data. The backup is protected by your PIN code.
5. What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect analytics data (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
- We do not track app usage
- We do not display ads
- We do not share any data with third parties
- We do not require registration or account creation
6. App permissions
The app requires the following system permissions:
- Camera — to take photos of moles
- Notifications — for mole check-up reminders
- Internet — only for optional Google Drive backup and Google Play purchase verification
- Biometrics — for optional app unlock with fingerprint or face
7. Children
The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to the privacy policy
We will inform about any changes to the privacy policy by updating this page. We encourage periodic review.

1. Acceptance of terms
By using the J-Skin app, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
2. Medical disclaimer
J-Skin is NOT a medical device and does not hold CE/FDA certification. The app is intended solely for documentation and self-observation of moles. It does not diagnose, assess disease risk, or replace a visit to a dermatologist. The ABCDE rule implemented in the app is educational in nature. If you have any concerns about your moles, ALWAYS consult a doctor.
3. License
J-Skin is available in a free version (up to 2 moles) and a full version (one-time purchase). Purchasing the full version grants the right to use the app indefinitely on one Google account. Reselling, modifying, or reverse engineering the app is not permitted.
4. User data
The user is the sole owner of their data (photos, measurements, notes). We have no access to this data. The user is responsible for creating backups. Loss of data due to device damage, app uninstallation, or loss of PIN code cannot be grounds for claims against us.
5. Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee the accuracy of measurements or correctness of any analyses. We are not responsible for health decisions made based on app data. Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the app.

We reserve the right to change these terms. We will inform about changes by updating this page.
